I passed with flying colours but mum had no money to send me to school so she told me to wait a bit but I was inpatient because all my high school friends were at various universities.
One day I visited my high school friend Charity who was a student at APEX. I told her how much I wanted to be in school but I couldn’t because my brother’s fees were expensive and mum couldn’t afford to send me to school but Charity said “today is Friday my dear, wipe those tears in your eyes. I can help you pay for your school fees, I will introduce you to a buyer, and he will take good care of you but abide by his rules. Call your mum and tell her you are spending a night with me here. Then wear this sexy dress and shoes. We need to go by g greens, that’s where we will find your buyer.”
When we reached g greens, Charity introduced me to 3 guys who were old enough to be our fathers. One of them was interested in me introduced himself as Richard asked to speak to me in private so we went to his car where he started touching me sexually but I said “I will not do anything with you until you agree to sponsor me because my mother can’t pay my fees.” The man asked me what course I wanted to do and I told him banking and finance then he said “wonderful course, I have a friend at Cavendish, I’ll call him so that he enrolls you. I’ll pay for your fees and accommodation but you will have to date me alone and not any other small boy on campus.” I agreed and we made out in his car.
The next day, Richard called me and asked me to meet him by KCC, I bathed quickly and rushed there. We drove to Cavendish and just like that I was a first year banking and finance student. Richard was a jealous man and never wanted to see me with other guys just because he was paying my school fees.
One day my sister Mutinta visited me because she heard a rumor about me so she said “are you really dating an older guy? I know he is the one paying your fees but you lied to me saying your school is sponsoring you. You are very smart. But Chipo hope he is just a buyer, don’t fall in love with him. Just use him for your financial gain. I’m also dating a married guy but he is younger than your buyer.” Then I said “he is just my ATM. I can’t fall in love with a man old enough to be our father. On Friday I went out for drinks with Charity and we met my classmate who was having drinks with his friends. We had fun together not knowing that someone saw me with the guys. The next day I was having lunch with Richard but he gave me a cold shoulder. I asked him what was bothering him and he said “so when I give you money you waste it on your lovers? Didn’t I call you last night to chill with my friends and I? You refused claiming you had to study but you went out with your lovers.” I said “please how can you call 10 guys my lovers? I just knew one guy who happens to be my classmate. Besides Charity was also round so if I misbehaved she was going to report to you. Whoever told you lies must be ashamed of himself.” Richard was upset so he slapped me and left me at the restaurant. Lucky enough I had money in my purse so I paid the bill and booked a cab. In the evening, Richard called me and apologized.
Years moved fast and I was in my final year and still seeing Richard. One day my friend Clare said “you are almost done with school, you need to stop seeing that old cargo please. Find a man your age Chipo.” I told her I was going to think about it.
